2 months agoLove this place. I took my 11 y/o son here for a haircut. Beth did an amazing job . The atmosphere and vibe was great, along with 70s music . Freaking awesome and this is where I’ll continue to take my son Kudos to Scouts!!a month agoTony Dodson was amazing with my daughter. She was nervous about her first “real” haircut and he was tender and sweet and put her immediately at ease. She also has long, curly hair, and he spent more time than I’ve ever seen spent on a child’s haircut cross-checking and correcting and making sure it was perfect. He was also clear that if there was anything she didn’t like, we could come back and he’d make it right. Spoiler: we haven’t had to go back–he did a fabulous job. I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair because I have very long, heavy hair and I am always scared whoever I go to is going to ruin it. a week agoMy hair is weirdly difficult to cut, if it isn’t done right it looks good at first but then grows in weird on the top and sides. I haven’t been able to find anyone in Nashville to cut it right in four years, until I booked with Ashley Wilkerson in the Gulch. I just show her a picture and she 100% nails it every single time – not to mention she’s funny as hell, pays attention to every detail, and always makes it a great experience. I moved to Nashville 8 months ago and have been bouncing around hair stylists. Let me tell you, Emmy gives the best haircuts around. She has a real passion for cutting hair and treats your hair like art! It would be really difficult to find a better hairstylist in Nashville.a week agoCharged my card $32 without even telling me, I didn’t even get a haircut there today. I scheduled an appointment but wasn’t able to make it due to work, so they decided to charge a cancellation fee which they claim was $16… I have no idea if I will get my money back like they said. I was a loyal customer until now.

a week agoI came across April and The Moose on IG back in 2020 and I was so impressed, I knew, that if I ever made it to Nashville that I would have to get a cut there. Well it finally came true yesterday! Jason Greer was amazing! All of the staff I encountered were amazing. He’s the first barber I’ve ever let touch my beard and I have no regrets! Thank you so much for the service. I felt very welcomed and comfortable while I was there. You guys rock!6 months agoVery cool location. I was amazed with how nice the interior was. There was a sweet puppy that made it that much more enjoyable. The atmosphere made it feel very relaxing. This was my first time here and I read great reviews about this place. I drove all the way from Murfreesboro for this experience and I was excited to try it out. I had a phone call right as I walked in and had to finish my conversation. There was someone in front of my checking out and someone came in after me to check in. Based off the interactions I could overhear while on the phone, everyone seemed really friendly. Once I was finished I walked up to check in. With it being my first time, I wasn’t really sure where to go. I wasn’t greeted when I walked up but I was offered if I wanted something to drink which I declined but thanked. I was told to go take a seat in the waiting room which I did. My appointment was at 11 and at about 11:07, instead of asking if I was ready or saying hi or my name, I was pretty much told to go upstairs. It seemed a little odd and I felt like I had done something wrong as the interactions were so short with the stylist and I. I went and sat in the chair and showed her what I wanted as I had an old picture of a haircut I had a while ago and wanted to try it again. When I showed the picture and tried to explain, she didn’t really say anything back and it felt a little awkward. When there was no response, I kept explaining it because I didn’t know what else to do. Lol. She asked if I wanted my hair washed and I hadn’t washed it yet so I agreed to it. When we were finished, she just walked away and didn’t say anything. Again, I felt like I had done something wrong or that it was an inconvenience for me being there. When the cutting began, she asked me if I had any plans for the day and I said not really and said that we just had twins a couple weeks ago and that I was trying to get some things done and that I was off for the next couple of weeks. She didn’t really say anything after that and it just kinda became awkward again. When all was finished, I checked out and WAS NOT offered a follow up appointment. My total was $55 and I tipped $20 and didn’t get much of a thank you afterwards. Very disappointing experience and not like it matters to them but will likely never do services with them again or recommend them to anyone else. It could have been an off day for her but her customer service skills were not present.EDIT: Just noticed how off the cut was from the left and right side. I just don’t understand how you miss something this large. It’s so hard to find a quality stylist in Nashville. Very disappointed that I now have to go pay someone else to fix this “upscale” barber shops mistake.
