a month agoI recently had the pleasure of visiting Charles Blades Barber Shop in Oakland, CA, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. James, one of the barbers and co-owners, along with Charles, truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible.From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere. James and Charles are incredibly welcoming, making you feel like a part of their extended family. Their genuine passion for their craft and dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in every interaction.
When it comes to haircuts, I can confidently say that James and Charles are the best barbers I have ever worked with in the Bay Area. Their attention to detail, precision, and ability to understand exactly what I wanted was truly remarkable. I left the shop feeling like a million bucks, with a haircut that perfectly suited my style.
One of the highlights of my visit was meeting Misha, their adorable shop dog. Misha’s presence added an extra layer of charm and warmth to the already inviting atmosphere. It’s clear that Charles Blades Barber Shop is not just a place to get a haircut, but a place where you can feel at home.

4 months ago“So fresh and so clean”. That is the best way to describe my experience at Charles barbershop. In between the eucalyptus hot towel and the precision with the razor blade on it. This place has such an ambience and leaves you with such a great impression that it makes one wonder where have they been all my life. I just happened to be in the area and I was able to call them for a walk-in. They were friendly from the start and they way they treated their other customers show they care about service for people of all ages. I’m blessed to have met Charles and Alejandro and I hope they keep up with their amazing work.4 months agoI can’t believe Charles Blades has been there for 17 years and I didn’t know it. I have been searching for a solid barber experience in Oakland for a while. Definitely found it and my barber. I booked with Alejandro on a Sunday- also great bc most shops aren’t open Sundays. Ale was welcoming, asked me how I wanted my cut exactly, and took his time to show me so I would be happy with his work. Had good conversation about local stuff, sports, news, etc.. Ale gave me a straight razor shave and did an excellent job. No bleeding, skin is soft now and feels clean. Especially loved the hot eucalyptus towel at the end. A great luxury experience to relax after a long gnarly work week. In and out in an hour. Alejandro was mellow, easy going and kind. He thanked me several times for being a guest. I really respect that as a professional hotel executive. Service matters to me so much. Haircut looks fresh and clean – i left feeling great. Like a new man. Exactly what I needed. 6 months agoI’ve been coming here for a few years now and have always had great experiences. All of the female barbers are great but Toni is my favorite. I get a bald fade of my undercut: she’s quick and does an excellent job every time.a month agoThe worst most expensive haircut you can find. Went in for a haircut on 07/15/23 with a Barber named Calvin. When I first sat down and made eye contact with barber I was immediately met with a frown and stink eye.I had grown out my hair for 6 months prior to this and was getting ready for a very important date. I showed Calvin the haircut I wanted on my phone and he reassured me he could do it. He then proceeded to cut and chop my hair with my back to the mirror for entire duration of the haircut(15-30 minutes). He then turned me around once he was done and showed me his work and destruction. He irreversibly gave me one the worst, most amateur haircuts I had ever received in my entire life and on top of it Charged me $60 for it. Don’t not waste your money on these overpriced underskilled fake barbers! I would have rather gone to a salon or great clips and gotten a nicer haircut for 20$. Everyday I wake up and look in the mirror I am reminded of the mistake I made in trusting these people. NEVER AGAIN5 months agoThis place has a good vibe and the employees are nice. With that said, the 2 haircuts I received at this location were poor. For the price I paid I expect more. For the second time I’ll have to get my haircut cleaned up at another barber shop. I always look forward to my visits on a Saturday morning for a great chat and to walk away feeling fresh. Amanda is the best, my hair has started thinning out a bit and she styles it perfectly so that I can still walk around feeling confident in how it looks. Looking forward to my next trip in!5 months agoWhen I first visited Peoples Barber last year, I told Amanda S. that my wife and I were trying to have a baby. She assured me that her haircut would get the job done. We are now the proud parents of a healthy newborn. Five stars.

Highly recommend Shane, and everyone who works there is top, really.a month agoI have not gotten a haircut here, but when I was inquiring during the pandemic the staff was helpful and went as far to walk me through how to join their waitlist.Update: I have gone to see “Natasha” twice now, once to trim up my beard a couple months ago and then again today for haircut+beard trim. Natasha did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone… just remember they are cash only.
