5 months agoI took my 8 year old son to get a haircut the night before his grandpa’s funeral and couldn’t have asked for more! Jason did an amazing job making him feel comfortable with all the trimmers and scissors and even gave him his first hot shave with the straight razor. He couldn’t wait to tell his friends about how cool it was! Joey talked me through the process and how to get the best out of my hair. Been going back to him ever since. Love the shop, good conversation — definitely recommend.2 months agoIs an amazing experience every time! I had my first haircut here a couple days before my wedding, and it did not disappoint! My barber (Clay), and the rest of the crew are very talented and are always making it a very friendly environment! I would strongly recommend this shop for anybody wanting an A class haircut!

4 months agoUpdate: Although I love the place the last two cuts have been mediocre. The barber always smells like cigarette and he does a terrible job. I try again to see if it was a one time but not he is not good at all.Great atmosphere and service. It is easy to schedule an appointment and the service is fast.
a month agoJudging by the reviews, I am seeing a common theme. Al needs to go. Al is the worst barber I’ve ever experienced in my 31 years of life. Reeks of cigarettes. I sit down, he’s viscerally upset and angry with something.Hello, I ask for a mid 1-2 fade and combover, inch off the top. He combs top of hair down in my eyes and starts buzzing 4 guard around and into the top of my hair and part. He’s getting into the length on top. My part is gone and the top of my head is all different lengths. The fade is so so so bad. I stopped him like 2 minutes in and re-explained.
He gave up half way through mentally and handed me a mirror after about 10 minutes in. I asked him – Are you done? Are you ok? “yea” Ok, this is not a good experience. This is not going well.
He got extremely defensive and went on a 3-4 minute rant. I was taken way off guard. Without me even asking or saying a word, he goes to the front desk and says “it’s comped”. Surreal experience! Al is aggressive and jerky and rushed as well. I don’t know how he has made it 5 years at Red’s but this business is not for him.
I’ve been coming to Red’s on and off for a long time with Matt and Will usually cutting my hair. I tried Al out this time with both of them not having availability last week. This will be a mistake that lasts me until the end of the year.
2 weeks agoRed’s Classic Barber Shop is the absolute BEST place for a haircut. I have been going for a little over a year now and have been cut by a few different barbers, but always make sure to get my haircut from William. Quick service and a quality cut!a month agoExcellent service and haircut by Elliott, did a great job listening to the desired look and executing the haircut and beard trim. Place had an old school feel and everyone was friendly. Definitely will be back and look forward to the experience.2 months agoThis wasn’t my first time to Red’s and won’t be my last. Each time I’ve gone, including this one, was for a special occasion, or I had a gift card.But this last time was the first time I had a beard trim and a head shave with a straight razor. I don’t think my beard has ever looked so good, and having my head shaved was an oddly satisfying experience.
Red’s is neither close to where I live or work, but I may have to make the trip more often because I think it’s worth it.

a month agoMy son (who is a few short months shy of 2) needed a haircut, badly. I chose a barbershop for his first experience. Jacob was nice, patient, and did a great job with what I asked. Especially, since my son kept his head down the majority of the time. ? The nostalgic feel of the shop was great. It was a bit dim, but not too dark for a bad mark. Are barbershops normally dim/dark throughout the day?When we need another cut, we’ll definitely be back!
a week agoJacob G gives me a top notch haircut every time. I’ve never had someone give me a 10/10 haircut every single time like this. I wait too long between cuts, but he always brings my best look back out. Plus I absolutely love the vibe with the old chairs and location on the Square. It’s a laid back and no nonsense place to be inside with just a little of the city hustle and bustle outside on the Square. Plus once your haircut is done, you are just steps from great food and drink options to make the trip worth it – treat yourself!! It’s a great place I will be going to for the foreseeable future.a week agoI stumbled upon this barbershop because others were closed before I could make it after work. I came in without an appointment, because I wasn’t aware of how this barbershop worked. I believe the barber’s name was Mathew, and he was very accommodating to allow me to be squeezed in between appointments. I really appreciated this as he could’ve made me wait much longer. The place has been there for over 100 years and was so inviting especially with the old swing band music! I received a wonderful haircut by Mathew. I will be back even if it’s out of my way, because the atmosphere was so nice and I was treated so kindly even without an appointment. Thanks Mathew!a month agoGave your shop a first time try for a Saturday morning appointment a few Saturday’s ago. I was at the shop for around 40 minutes waiting with no avail. Sounds like the person I had my appointment with had gotten sick and was unable to come in. The next day I received a text to set up a complimentary cut the following week.I met with Matthew on Thursday afternoon and I was blown away by his service and how apologetic he was that my first experience had went the way that it did.
He gave me a great cut, and even better conversation.
Matt went the extra mile to make me feel appreciated before, during, and after the cut. He is the reason I will be returning!
It is hard to find businesses these days that appreciate the customer and work hard to earn their customer’s loyalty. This shop cares about it’s customers. I WILL BE BACK!
5 months agoGreat barber shop. Classic 1950’s aesthetic that matches Fountain Square well. My barber did great work on a bald shave and beard trim. She skillfully used a straight razor to clean up and make the cut precise. Also, they were giving out dog treats to passersby which is just a really nice gesture of kindness to the community. Highly recommend.
